Ashford Tussah Silk Sliver 100gm
- Tussah is naturally soft beige and is from silkworms fed on Oak leaves.
- It has a very long staple. It is strong, lustrous and more resilient than cultivated “white” silks. Silk is pure luxury. Silk has many qualities.
- As well as its natural sheen, it is strong, resistant to pilling, and the long fibres make it easy to spin.
- It dyes beautifully and blends well with other fibres.

Ashford Tussah Silk Sliver 100gm

Published Friday, 11 October 20245 out of 5I bought this and some Mulberry silk too. This is less lustrous and a more natural colour which is quite different to the Mulberry... more "raw" ...I like it and it would be gorgeous left in it's natural colour. Im plying it with light brown/off-white wool for dyeing but i might reconsider as it is lovely as it is. It is less slippery and has shorter fibres I think than the Mulberry so is easier to spin although both are wonderful to spin once you get the hang of it! Delicious stuff!!
