The laminated, densified birchwood used for Rowan needles wears exceptionally well over time and allows for a faster speed when knitting.
Available in a variety of sizes from 2.5mm up to 12 mm, the needles come in an 80cm length (including tips) and feature the mm/US needles sizes size and the Rowan logo printed on the shaft.

The yarn glides over rather than sticks in the metal joins because Rowan seems to have figured out as way for the metal part (between the wood and the flexible cable) to somehow become a smooth extension of the wood. These needles seem to be very popular because most of the sizes are now out of stock again!
