The plies help resist pilling and washability makes it fantastic for frequently-worn garments, housewares, and children and baby clothes.
Like all our yarns, it’s super soft and great for next-to-the-skin wear! Spun from our premium superwash merino, it comes in an array of watercolor-multi, semi-solid, and variegated colorways.
Rios is kettle-dyed in small batches by artisan dyers and is full of subtle variation. Be sure to get enough yarn to complete your project since each bag is a different dye lot, and hanks may even vary within the same bag due to the dying process. To ensure random colour distribution, work from two hanks of yarn at once, alternating a few rows from each.

The first lot I bought was wound into a cake because it was I a skin and I didn't have the gear to do that myself. This time I forgot about that, bought the skin and when it arrived I thought, "now what!?" It took me about 2 hours to get it into a cake (I don't know if that's the correct terminology but I'm sure you understand) without the thing with arms that the skein goes onto to hold it out so you can wind it into a cake. Anyway, I was sure I was going to have a lot of trouble with I tangling and thought I may have to cut it at some stage to get it untangled. I was wrong. It did get very tangled but by being patient and gentle with it, jiggling it to loosen it up, it didn't get knotty at all. It is so silky and smooth to work with and lovely to knit with. I'm looking forward to buying more, I will ask the shop to wind it for me next time. I ordered the yarn online, it was sent quickly and was well packaged. I haven't had dealings with this shop before but I'll be happy to buy from them again.
